Aft Mid Or Front Cruise Ship
A rocking ship is really not an issue anymore.
Aft mid or front cruise ship. Newbie here going on the QE for 14 nts and have no idea how to pick my cabin. At least on a cruise my room was about 23 aft and got that type of movement which I think came from the propellers. In that vein the bow is located forward to the front on a ship and the stern is located aft to the back.
The ship has stabilisers and can fill tanks either side to avoid movement. Likewise you cant get a balcony room too low on the ship. Of course the middle is optimal but I would definitely go aft instead of forward if I had to make that choice.
Best cruise ship staterooms by type and cruise line Best-view cabins. The basics of a balcony cabin are the same whether your cruise room is located midship or aft. Midship rooms lower on the ship are theoretically the best for minimizing motion.
Its a bit uncouth but aft sounds a lot like ass which is your rear. But other reasons not to want that location. The most desirable location is a mid-ship stateroom or if not available a stateroom towards the back aft of the ship.
If you are prone to sea-sickness the industry recommends a low deck mid-ship for the least amount of motion sensation. Best-view cabins are located forward at the ships frontbow or aft at the ships stern. Im sure deck 7 aft is fine too but the higher up you are the more likely you are to feel motion think of an upside-down pendulumthe swing is greater towards the top.
Also will have move movement on the bow and stern the least amount of movement is a low deck inside cabin middle of the ship. Rear Aft cabins - more motion than the midship cabins but less than the front ones. Some will have ocean view rooms on the ends of the ships.
